A Round-Up of Week 4's Subway Players of the Week.
Senior Softball:
Youna Lucquin (Carolina Tar Heels)
Youna had an inspiring double header performance this weekend. In her role as “utility player” she stood out not only because of her solid batting performance but also defensively with what softball coaches are calling “the catch of the year” – a diving outfield catch to save the day for her team.
Senior Baseball:
Ben Anderson (Charlotte Knights)
"Big" Ben Anderson pitched the DLL Charlotte Knights to their first victory of the season. The right-hander lasted 6 strong innings allowing 6 hits, 3 runs (2 earned) while striking out 9. Ben had his fastball working all day and effectively deployed it to battle through a tough Bulls lineup.
Intermediate Baseball:
Ayden Stefaniuk (Hooks)
During the Hooks win, Ayden went 2 for 3 at the plate, scored 3 runs and drove in 3 runs. One of his hits was a towering home run that went over the netting and hit a car. :). Ayden also came up big on the mound when he came in relief to strike out 2 batters, preventing a big inning from developing.
Minors Baseball:
Seth Orton (Rockhounds)
Seth got three outfield hits, hitting the ball hard all day, pitching debut, and catching.
Peewee Baseball:
Aiden McGehee (Hooks)
Aiden is a first year player and made 4 defensive putouts at 3rd base.
Congratulations all!
