A Round-Up of Week 12's Subway Players of the Week.
Senior Softball:
Kinza Bokhari (Carolina Tar Heels)
Kinza played a complete game as catcher and another one as pitcher for the Tar Heels.
Kinza’s catching held the runners in check while leading the Tarheels offense with two triples, a double and a single totaling 8 RBI’s. She added 5 stolen bases to top off a memorable weekend.
Senior Baseball:
Gabriel Reque Cruz (Durham Bulls)
Gabri had a stellar offensive performance to go along his solid outing at shortstop for the DLL Durham Bulls as they beat the experienced Men’s Dodgers 9-1. Gabri went 3 for 4, 1RBI, 2 SB and 1R, including a memorable head first slide at home to beat the tag.
Intermediate Baseball:
Nicolas Vijande (Hooks)
During the Hooks win, Nico had a great defensive game with 3 innings of solid catching and a great defensive play at 1B. At the plate, Nico had two hits, including a single and a triple.
Minors Baseball:
Trace Minnich (Rockhounds)
Excellent relief pitching, a nice out at second from the hole at shortstop, and all around good at-bats.
Minors Baseball:
James Moore (Riverbandits)
James Moore will be our POW nominee. James had a stellar game in the field with a great catch in centre field on a hard hit line drive and an outfield assist, throwing out a runner attempting to go to third base. He also drove in 2 runs.
Peewee Baseball:
Emme Hunt (Hooks)
Emme went 4-for-4 with a triple, 2 doubles and a single, and had 5 RBIs and 4 runs scored. She played great defense on top of her great day at the plate! Most importantly she had a winning attitude.
